Punkaliyarra is a gender justice project calling for the restoration of first nations women’s leadership.

Developed on Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi country, Punkaliyarra is produced by Big hART in partnership with women from Ieramugadu community (Roebourne, WA). In community Punkaliyarra drives programs that supports leadership skills, voice and visibility for senior and young Aboriginal women. On tour Punkaliyarra presents new artistic works, inviting national and international audiences to experience the change-making power of Aboriginal matriarchal leadership.
